| La Jolla is San Diego's "Jewel by the Sea", bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, Interstate Highway 5 to the east, the community of Pacific Beach to the south, and the City of Del Mar to the north. La Jolla is among of the most prestigious neighborhoods in southern California, not only because of its prime location offering unparalleled views of the ocean, but because of its excellent local schools, the fact that it is the home to the University of California at San Diego, the Scripps Institute of Oceanography and the Salk Institute, its abundance of community, cultural and recreational activities, and its numerous parks, beaches, resturants, coffee shops, art galleries and boutiques. |
