| Open March through September, Friday through Sunday. Restaurant and boat rentals are available. When full, the lake is large enough for water-skiing. Fishing includes bass, catfish, bluegill, bullhead, and crappie. The grandeur of El Capitan Peak is great for hiking and a rock climber’s paradise, and overlooks El Capitan Reservoir. From Interstate 8, exit north on Lake Jennings Park Road, turn east on El Monte Road, about 8 miles to the entrance. From the entrance it's about 2.5 miles to the concession/launch area. |

| The park is a recreational facility emphasizing camping and nature study for all citizens and has provided facilities useful to the disabled and needy. It has picnic facilities, rustic campsites, paved hiking trails and play equipment designed to accommodate both the disabled and non-disabled. It has a Nature Studies Interpretive Center that emphasizes that natural environment is the primary visitor experience. |

| Home of the California State record Blue Catfish (101 lb) caught March 2000! San Vicente is four miles north of Lakeside on Hwy 67, and one mile east on San Vicente or Vigilante, to Moreno Avenue. It is open October through June, Thursday through Sunday, (619-465-3474.) A man-made lake formed when the dam was complete in l943, this reservoir provides 1,069 surface acres and 14 shoreline miles when full. Anglers catch trout, bass, bluegill and channel catfish. Picnicking is limited to a small area adjacent to the Concession stand and restrooms are available. |
