The Boosters of Old Town (BOOT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the support of interpretive programs within Old Town San Diego State Historical Park (OTSDSHP). BOOT sponsors interpretive activities that reflect life in San Diego through 1820 to 1872. It generates income through fund raising activities, primarily through its store and historic tours. Funds raised by BOOT stay within the Park; they are not returned to the California General Fund. Funds are distributed to interpretive programs by the BOOT Board of Directors in response to proposals submitted by State Park Staff or by volunteers working on projects under staff direction.
