| The San Diego Asian Film Festival is a 501 C-3 event of the newly formed San Diego Asian Film Foundation. The first SDAFF was established in 1999 by the Asian American Journalists Association of San Diego, when AAJA teamed up with filmmakers, artists, educators, community groups and leaders to present the 1st SDAFF at the University of San Diego, August 11-13, 2000. The festival has now moved into the Madstone Theaters at Hazard Center in Mission Valley and has added a second venue at the University of San Diego Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice.
